Download Sohba and tap Get Started, then sign up with your email address. After confirming your email, you'll be taken through a quick setup to build your profile.
Sohba is a teammate-finding app for gamers. You add the games you play, your competitive ranks, your regions, languages, and platforms, then browse other players who match your profile. When two players accept each other, it's a match and you can start chatting and playing together.
Sohba is for players aged 18 and older. A date of birth is required at sign-up and the app enforces this requirement.
Each candidate profile you see is scored against yours across five factors: the games you both play and how close your competitive ranks are (40%), your preferred regions (20%), languages you speak (15%), platforms you play on (10%), and rank closeness (15%). The percentage shown on the card reflects how well aligned you are overall.
A few things could cause this:
Swipe right (or tap the accept button) on a candidate's profile to accept them. If they accept you back, you're matched and a conversation opens automatically. Matching is mutual: both players must accept each other.
Not immediately. Skipped candidates return to your pool after 7 days. In the meantime, focus on the players currently in your queue.
A clock icon means your message is being sent. One tick means it has been delivered to our servers. Two grey ticks mean the other person has received it on their device. Two blue ticks mean they have read it.
Check your internet connection first. If the connection is fine, close the app fully and reopen it. Messages that fail to send are kept in the conversation and will retry automatically the next time you open the chat.
LFG (Looking for Group) lets you signal to your existing matches that you're online and ready to play right now. Toggle the LFG switch on the Home tab to go live. Your matches receive a notification and can see you in their "Looking to play" feed.
Your LFG status automatically expires after 2 hours. You can also turn it off early at any time from the Home tab.
Open a conversation or tap their profile, then tap the three-dot menu (···) and select Block. Blocking is immediate and bidirectional: they will no longer appear in your matchmaking pool and your existing match is removed. You can manage your block list in Settings.
Tap the three-dot menu (···) on their profile or in a conversation, then select Report. Choose the category that best describes the issue. Your report goes directly to our moderation team for review.
No. Blocked users are hidden from each other entirely: in matchmaking, in search, and in conversations.
Go to Settings and tap the field you want to update. Username and email changes take effect immediately. Email changes may require re-verification.
On the login screen, tap Forgot password? and enter your email address. We'll send you a link to reset it.
Go to Settings → Delete Account. Deletion is permanent and removes all your data: profile, matches, messages, and preferences. See our account deletion page for full details.
Go to Settings in the app and toggle off the notification types you don't want. You can also manage notification permissions at the system level in your device's Settings app.
